About Us

The Afghanistan Center for Epidemiological Studies (ACES) was established in 2021 with the mission to study the impact of health and disease on society. Our dedicated team of experts is committed to conducting rigorous research and analysis to better understand the epidemiological landscape in Afghanistan. We strive to devise effective strategies for disease prevention, health promotion, improved medical care, and environmental monitoring.

Our Mission: At ACES, our primary goal is to contribute to the well-being of the Afghan population by generating valuable insights through epidemiological studies. We believe that by understanding the factors influencing health and disease in our society, we can develop evidence-based interventions to improve public health outcomes.

Research and Analysis: Research lies at the heart of our work at ACES. Our team employs cutting-edge methodologies and data-driven approaches to investigate various aspects of health and disease in Afghanistan. Through comprehensive data collection, analysis, and interpretation, we aim to identify patterns, trends, and risk factors that contribute to the burden of diseases in our communities.

Areas of Focus:

  1. Disease Surveillance: ACES actively monitors the occurrence and distribution of diseases across the country. By collecting and analyzing data from various sources, including hospitals, clinics, and public health agencies, we provide valuable insights into disease patterns, enabling policymakers and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions.
  2. Public Health Interventions: We collaborate with governmental and non-governmental organizations to develop effective strategies for disease prevention and health promotion. Our research findings inform the design and implementation of public health interventions, targeting specific diseases or health issues to improve the overall health of the Afghan population.
  3. Medical Care Improvement: ACES works closely with healthcare providers to identify areas for improvement in medical care delivery. By conducting research on healthcare practices, patient outcomes, and healthcare system performance, we aim to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services across the country.
  4. Environmental Monitoring: We recognize the significant impact of environmental factors on public health. ACES conducts research to assess and monitor the environmental conditions in Afghanistan, aiming to identify potential health hazards and develop strategies for environmental health protection.

Get Involved:

At ACES, we believe in the power of collaboration and community engagement. If you share our passion for improving public health in Afghanistan, there are several ways you can get involved:

  1. Participate in Research: We encourage individuals and communities to participate in our research studies, which often involve surveys, interviews, or data collection. Your participation can contribute to generating valuable insights and shaping future interventions.
  2. Volunteer Opportunities: ACES offers volunteer opportunities for individuals interested in public health and epidemiological research. As a volunteer, you can support our ongoing projects, assist with data collection and analysis, or contribute your skills in various capacities.
  3. Collaborate with Us: We actively seek collaborations with local and international organizations, academic institutions, and policymakers to strengthen our research efforts and maximize our impact. If you are interested in partnering with us, please reach out to our team.
