Evidence Appraisal, Mixed Methods & Research Communication
Learn to judge what evidence can support and communicate it responsibly. Eight expanded written lessons cover results and uncertainty, quantitative appraisal, diagnostic evidence, qualitative inquiry, mixed-method integration, evidence-synthesis planning and decision-focused reporting.
This course builds on core epidemiological methods rather than repeating introductory calculations. Worked fictional examples, appraisal exercises, interview-guide practice, a joint display and a final evidence brief develop interpretation and communication skills. Recommended preparation: Epidemiological Research Methodology or equivalent. Allow about 4 hours including exercises.
Reporting checklists are used for transparency, not as numerical quality scores. Teaching exercises are not completed systematic reviews or approvals for real research.
