Research design

Study Design & Causal Reasoning: Applied Clinic

Move beyond identifying study designs to defending a workable research strategy. Eight expanded written lessons develop an evidence-gap brief, an estimand, design comparisons, causal assumptions, bias prevention and a probability-sampling plan.

This clinic complements Epidemiological Research Methodology: the emphasis is on applied design decisions, not repeating introductory calculations. Recommended preparation: that course or equivalent knowledge. Each lesson includes a worked fictional case, a concrete planning task and feedback. Allow about 4 hours including practice.

Your final output is a design dossier ready for methodological discussion; workshop drafts do not constitute research approval.
